Free Online Guitar Lessons for Beginners

Free online guitar lessons are a popular item at the moment. Maybe it’s a symptom of the post-Christmas period. There’s a whole other school of commencing guitar players out there who just received free guitars, and today they desire free online guitar lessons. If you possess no thoughts on how to begin to play your new guitar, you will be searching about the internet for info on what you will need to discover how to play your guitar. Maybe you’ve even paid a visit to your local guitar teacher, and not been smitten by their charisma and virtuosity. So now you’re back online, searching for free guitar lessons.

One of the problems for beginners is when you start looking at online guitar lessons the terminology can be a little scary. Learning what all the strings are called, finding out how many notes you have to learn. This is where online guitar lessons excel. On video sites like YouTube every facet of guitar playing is explained to you by experienced guitar players. The printed word does not give us information as effectively as someone looking at us from our computer screen and talking us through matters.

Umpteen sites on the internet have free guitar lessons for beginners. It’s just a matter of looking for them. Type in “free online guitar lessons” and you will be rewarded with numerous sites to explore. If you stay with the thought of getting your guitar lessons from YouTube, all you want to do is pick the lessons you most want and the lessons you most like and save them in your bookmarks. For instance, if you are a raw beginner, you will be looking for a video showing you how to tune your guitar, and maybe a lesson showing you how to change your guitar strings. If you are an electric guitar player you will want someone to show you how to set up your guitar.

As for actually learning how to play. If you don’t have any idea of the variety of songs you want to play, start with fooling around with some of the entertaining stuff you find on YouTube like power chords or fingerpicking. You will find plenty of lessons for these areas of guitar playing and seeing easy chords and fingerpicking patterns will set off your interest in guitar playing.

Even if you do find some free online guitar lessons, any beginner would be well advised to seek out his local guitar teacher and get a few examples from a live person. A teacher sitting in the same room as you are can see your mistakes and correct how you are picking or how you are holding the guitar. These are the basic things that you really should get right from the beginning. You could also look for lessons on HOW to practice and on PLANNING your daily practice. Most guitar players advise beginners to practice for shorter periods at first, with plenty of rests rather than slog it out for long, boring sessions.

guitar lessons??

I have a really old guitar and im going to get it tuned or whatever but i need a simple way to learn how to play.

I honestly dont want to go by books or getting lessons.
what are some easy ways to learn to play, and remember?

There are no "easy" ways to learn to play. If it was truly easy to play guitar, everyone would do it.

Most people who start out to learn guitar expecting it to be easy end up quitting after a few weeks when they realize that its a lot harder than they imagined. It comes as a great disappointment to some people to realize that they’re NOT going to learn the basics in a month and be ready to join a rock band or perform in public in 3 months or whatever……..

It can take years of concentrated practice and careful effort to get really good on guitar. Even if all you want is to learn a handful of chords so you can strum along to songs like "Kum-Ba-Yah" around the summer camp bonfire, it can take months, depending on how much time you’re willing to put into practicing every day.

If you’re serious about learning to play, lessons with a good teacher are the way to go. You need to see how to hold the guitar, position your fretting hand on the neck, strum and pick correctly, etc — otherwise you will most likely develop bad habits that will hold you back later.

You can do a Google search and find instructional DVD’s available for sale, or go on YouTube and do a search for guitar instruction video clips.

Guitar Lessons and Practice: the Most Critical Fact

You’re learning guitar because you want to play on your guitar your favorite music, and

you want to enjoy the feeling of drawing out of your guitar those enticing sounds.

And you want to learn to play your guitar in an optimum way, so you’ll awaken the

admiration of everybody listening to you.

And you can achieve your goals, when you take into account a few and very important

concepts, specially when you are self-teaching.

I won’t tell you that they are easy. I’ll tell you that you can definitively do them,

just putting will and work. Like everything deserved in life.

Let’s go through them.

Attitude: It is the main thing you must have in mind. I’m talking here about a

strong and

decided state of mind and body that puts you on the track of all the effort needed to

meet your goals. Without hard work you won’t get anything great in life. You won’t even

be a fair guitar player.

Listen in a different way: Until now most likely you listened just to enjoy it.

From now

on, you’ listen music to enjoy it and learn from it. You’ll listen trying to find out how

the player is playing every specific part of the piece; what is the player intending to

give; what difficulties is the player encountering, and how is he/she going through them;

how would you like to have that part played.

Practice daily: Yes! Practice daily! Not less than two hours a day (one in the

morning,

and one in the afternoon, evening or night). I told you that it would be hard.

Practice efficiently: During the time segments you assigned to practicing, do just

that.

Practice. Practice the lessons, exercises, scales, chords, pieces you must practice. Be

clearly sincere with yourself. Don’t fool yourself, thinking that you are doing your

practice when you’re only playing something you like to play and not what you must play.

Play with others: Whenever possible, specially when you have reached a playing

knowledge

and skills (and it isn’t required very much), play sometimes with other guitar players.

You’ll be surprised about how much you can learn.

Look for a teacher: Yes. Look for a teacher. If you are learning to play guitar on

your

own, there’ll be a time when you’ll need the guidance and advices of a guitar teacher.

There are many things than cannot be written and read. They must be shown and explained

over the guitar itself. And I guarantee you that you’ll be amazed about what you will

learn.

Remember. Attitude, change your listening habits, practice daily and efficiently, play

with others whenever possible, and have a teacher to make your knowledge perfect.

There’s no mystery in learning to play the guitar, but though rewarding it’s a way of

hard work.

Take it like that, and you’ll become a very good guitar player.

Beginner Guitar Lessons Online – Learn Acoustic Guitar Online

It is very important to be familiar with the guitar before learning how to play on it. As you already know, the guitar is one of the oldest instruments in the world.

The acoustic guitar was invented in the late 1700’s while the electric one is almost 200 years younger being officialy unveiled in the 1930’s. Both acoustic ad electric guitars share the same attributes and the only difference between them is that the latter will need an amplifier to rock.

A guitar consists of a headstock, tuners, nut, guitar neck, sound hole, body and bridge. If you take each one of these parts out, then the guitar won’t sound the same because every little part play its role to produce the perfect sound.

A guitar player must know how to hold the pick. If you don’t use a pick you might hurt your fingers very bad. You must keep the picking hand open with your palm facing you. While keeping your thumb beside the index finger you should make a loose fist. Then rotate your hand while your thumb’s knockle faces you.

Next comes tuning. Every guitar player must know how to tone a guitar before playing it. You can find various online tutorials on the Internet that will help you tune your guitar without using an electronic tuner.

After tuning the guitar you should learn the scales. Any beginner must know which finger (except for the thumb) should press which string.

The thumb is only used by proffesional guitar players but for the beginners it is only a support. At first you must learn how to make your other four fingers get along with the chords.

Once you’re ready you should play your very first chord. It might help you if you follow the instructions on the illustrated chord charts.

All the above mentioned tips are only the basics. In order to become a professional you must learn a lot more. The beginner lessons are very important and if you’re really committed and if you want to become a rockstar then you’ll learn all kind of tricks in no time.

Practice makes it perfect and you must keep that in mind all the time.
